Three nights wild camping in wolf territory
-
Meet your host at Köping train station and head to a secret location, deep in the pine forests of central Sweden. This is the perfect place to explore the boreal wonderland and take a short walk to discover signs of the Taiga ecosystem that will surround us over the next few days. Here you will learn more about the importance of forest biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem.
Start your adventure with a Swedish fika — coffee, tea, and something sweet — while getting to know your guide and fellow adventurers. Once at camp, settle into your own tent and make yourself at home. As evening falls, enjoy a relaxed dinner by the campfire and unwind with a soothing sauna session, followed by stories and conversation under the starry sky — the perfect way to start your wilderness experience.
Night in tents.
-
Wake up to a spot of forest yoga before breakfast (for those who are keen, it's not required!) and stretch out after your night of camping. For those interested, the morning also offers time for an introduction to wood carving or if you prefer a swim or relaxing time.
After a hearty lunch, the rest of the day will be all about the gray wolves that roam freely through the forest: learn about their behavior, history, and the important role they play as a keystone species in rewilding. Discover the Scandinavian Wolf Project and ongoing conservation efforts to protect these incredible animals. Later, venture into an area where a wolf family keeps their territory to search for paw prints, signs of prey, and droppings. As dusk falls and the forest comes alive, set out on a flashlight hike, listening for the unmistakable howls.
Night in tents.
-
Begin with another daybreak yoga session followed by some bushcraft training or continue your wood carving practice from earlier. After honing your outdoor skills, you’ll head deeper into the wilds for more wildlife tracking.
Learn how to track different animals by looking out for bite marks, paw/hoof prints and fresh droppings. In the afternoon, we’ll be back in camp for an open water swim and to enjoy an age-old Scandinavian tradition, a wood-fired sauna. As the day winds down, gather around the campfire to cook and share a cozy dinner under the stars, reflecting on the adventures of the day.
Night in tents.
-
Enjoy our last breakfast in the forest where we share our experiences in a closing circle around the campfire.
We then pack up camp and head back to civilisation.
Departure
Three nights of wild camping
What sets this location apart is its unique residents - a family of wolves often heard howling at night. Don't worry, though - we'll be camping together, and you'll have your own single or double tent equipped with the most comfortable equipment available, so you can relax and focus on the experience. A dry toilet is located nearby.
Meet your guides
One or two of these guides will join you on the adventure. They live and breathe the wild, and will make sure you feel safe, inspired, and at home in nature.
Linda Åkerberg
Linda feels most at home outdoors. Walking, sleeping under the stars, and making coffee over an open fire. She left a busy career as a full time photographer behind to a life filled with adventures and now helps others do the same. Linda has done many long distance solo adventures and been awarded Adventurer of the year. Linda chooses slow, simple adventures wherever she goes.
Linda Staaf
Linda lives close to nature, in a tiny house she built herself. She’s an experienced nature guide, kayak guide, and mountain bike guide who loves helping others slow down and connect with the wild. Linda has completed several solo Nature Quests and is passionate about regenerative tourism, giving more back to nature than we take.
Anaï Ljungberg
Anaï feels most at home in the quiet of the forest. She has a passion for plants, old folklore, and sharing stories by the fire. After studying to become a nature guide, she’s now excited to bring people together and create magical moments out in the wild.

On some occasions during this tour we may walk in rough terrain off-trail where it may be rocky, mossy, wet and slippery, even in darkness with headlamps. These walks are slow with stops along the way and rarely last for more than an hour. Please only sign up for this tour if you think you will be fit enough for these walks.
Please note that the long sun hours during June and July means that we have to stay up until late, often until after midnight. But we do late breakfasts so you always have the chance to sleep in during the mornings.
This tour is not specifically adapted for photographing wildlife, although there will be plenty of opportunities to photograph the natural wonders that we may see.
