Day 1: Welcome day
Arrive and meet with our host at 2 pm. There will be a welcome session by the camp fire later in the afternoon. Our outdoorsy host will let you know how everything works, where to fetch water, how to start a fire, how to sleep well in the forest and more. Then place your bags in your hut, unroll your sleeping bag and light some candles. We hope that you will feel like home.
Go for a hike, take a wild swim in the lake, go for a sauna or just rest by the campfire.
Cook your own dinner over open fire.
As night falls you enter your sleeping bag and close the door of you very own forest hut.
Day 2: Outdoor activities & Beaver Safari
Wake up to birds song whenever you feel like getting up.
Prepare your breakfast using the ingredients from the shed.
You will have a whole day to explore the surrounding forest. You can go for a hike in the woods, explore the lake by canoe, relax at the sandy beach, go for a wild swim, go birdwatching, pick endless amounts of berries in season, mushrooms and edible plants, meditate among tall trees, chop firewood or just hang out by the camp fire with the others.
Our canadian style canoes are stable and safe and each fits two adults and two kids. Canoeing is the ideal way to explore the lake and the surrounding forest. Use our waterproof map where we have marked out some of the highlights of this lake called Skärsjön. It is a relatively small lake but it is good enough for an hour or two of paddling.
Optional extra: During this morning you have the chance to join a bushcraft workshop with focus on how to make fire in the wild. This activity is not included in the package, but we can highly recommend you to add it if you are interested. You will be asked to add this activity in the next stage during the booking process. This workshop will be led by Jonas Landolsi, one of Sweden's leading bushcraft experts who happens to live near Kolarbyn. Jonas will teach you about the art of survival and the concept of bushcraft, with lots of examples and practical tips. You will also learn the history of fire making and the different primitive techniques of creating a flame. After this session you will have the basic practical knowledge of how to create fire using a ferro rod and a knife. And also how you can build and maintain a fire in an efficient and safe way.
Cook your own lunch over the open fire.
In the evening our guide will take you out for a Beaver Safari. Our guide will meet you at Kolarbyn’s reception to travel together by minivan to another nearby lake. During the evening we will have an outdoor evening meal together and then travel by rubber boat and spend the evening silently cruising on the lake and river in search of beavers and other wildlife. We return to Kolarbyn late at night.
Day 3: Outdoor activities & Moose Safari
Enjoy another day in the forest. There is always more to explore.
In the late afternoon you will meet up with one of our wildlife guides again. This time for a Moose Safari. We travel by minivan to another part of the forest which is exceptionally good for moose watching. We see moose on nearly all tours. We will have a camp fire meal somewhere in the forst and return to Kolarbyn late at night.

Breakfast in the forest. Say goodbye and leave when you have to.
