Did you know that its nest can be as tall as a human and that it can cut a big tree with it’s bare teeth? Join our guides for an evening boat tour on the lake and meet this fascinating Engineer of the forest. As the day comes to an end and dusk falls we enter our boat and travel silently not to disturb the wildlife. Our sharpened senses and intense search for any trace of Beaver eventually takes us to one of its well camouflaged lodges. The scenery is idyllic with lush trees and a black water mirror. Suddenly ripples break the flat surface. The next moment a wet little creature appears by the shore right in front of you, the Beaver has arrived for its evening feeding!
We travel together in a small rubber boat with electric engine accompanied by a skilled guide. During the tour we eat an evening meal together on the shore of a beautiful forest lake. The long sun hours of the light Nordic Summer will enable us to enjoy every moment of this eventful journey.
Itinerary
Meet up with your guide in the afternoon. The tour begins with an introduction to Sweden’s wildlife as well as practical guidelines on how to act to increase our chances to encounter wild animals. We then enter our rubber boat and spend the evening cruising on the lake and river in search of Beavers and other wildlife. At some point we make a stop at the shore to eat an outdoor dinner together. After dark we return to our starting point to conclude the tour.

Rates (valid until 31 October, 2012)
- 995 SEK per person (Children to 12 years 695 SEK) Beaver Safari.
- 1840 SEK per person (Children to 12 years 1490 SEK) Beaver Safari with lodging at guesthouse full board.
- 1460 SEK per person (Children to 12 years 965 SEK) Beaver Safari with lodging at Kolarbyn Eco-lodge with breakfast.
Included: Guide, evening meal, buoyancy vest.
Not included: Lodging, travel to and from the tour.
Guided activities: This tour includes a guided excursion which typically lasts for 5-6 hours in the evening/night depending on weather conditions and the group’s preferences. During most excursions we cruise in a rubber boat on a lake or a small river.
Tour dates: See our tour calendar for all available dates. Tours can also be arranged on request at other dates at a minimum of 4 participants during May-September.
When is best: May-September is usually good for Beaver watching.
Lodging: This tour does not include any lodging.
Times: The starting and ending time for this tour depends on the season as follows. Please make sure that you are at the meeting location in time. Give us a call if you are late.

Suitability: Recommended minimum age is 10 years. Participants should be able to swim. There is no walking on this tour.
Group size: Maximum 9 participants per guide. With 2 guides there may be up to 18 participants.
