Aug 5: Howling wolves recording

This is a recording from an adult wolf howling and the pups of the year replying with lots of howling in a choir. We have recorded the Wolves’ howling in Hedbyn wolf territory several times the last couple of weeks.

We did the recording just after midnight. It was a silent night without wind and we estimate that the pack was located about 500 meters away from us as we sat on a hill to listen for them.

July-September is the best season for wolf howling and January-March is the best season to track them, which we often do on cross country skis.
